Have you ever felt like you were totally on the spot and had to look good no matter what? What about putting a smile on and stating that you are fine? Have you ever thought that you were the only messed up person as you walk through crowds of people who wear happy clothes and pasted smiles? I have been one of that crowd that puts on a smile.

One evening last week, after a difficult day, I was feeling lonely and rejected. It didn't last into the next day because I was able to journal and speak the truth to myself....and a good night's sleep helped too.

"It's Ok, I'm going to get through this. I am loved and accepted by the One who counts and I can accept myself with my weaknesses. "

Sharing emotions with Jesus is helpful. Dare I share these feelings with people? Yes, I can. I don't really have to tell the whole world. Maybe someone else has these feelings. Thank God for the friends I have who know my ups and downs and can quickly identify.

I understand weakness and I can bear with weakness in others. Why wouldn't I? I've been accepted....

In the car I heard a song I had not heard before. It was called. "If We're Honest" by Francesca Battistelli.

"Bring your brokneness, and I'll bring mine," she sings.

Anyone want a comrade in brokenness? Here I am.

Let's be real with one another.

Song by Francesca Battistelli (click to see her singing it on YouTube.)

Truth is harder than a lie The dark seems safer than the light And everyone has a heart that loves to hide I'm a mess and so are you We've built walls nobody can get through Yeah, it may be hard, but the best thing we could ever do, ever do

Bring your brokenness, and I'll bring mine 'Cause love can heal what hurt divides And mercy's waiting on the other side If we're honest If we're honest
